There have
been many questions about how this writing challenge will play out, so I
thought I might give you a little more information. The “plan” goes something like this:
Writers
will sign up to participate by June 28 by emailing us at ikydu101@gmail.com. Shortly after this deadline, each writer will
receive an email containing the “note,” or visual prompt, which will be received
by a gentleman within the story. You, as
the writer, will get to decide the author of the note, the meaning behind the
note and the events that either lead up to or follow the delivery of the
note. There will be a general outline to
the story, which you will receive in the introduction and confirmation email
after signing up to participate, but most of the creative freedom will lie
within your hands. We don’t want to
stifle any creative juices you may have flowing! Word count can be 500 to 5,000 and any style
of writing.
Here is
an example of what you could receive:
Dear
Writing Participant:
Here
is your visual prompt: A post-it left on
a briefcase.
Please
let us know as soon as possible if a beta is needed for your entry. Good luck and happy writing!!

I’m so excited to see what our
fellow shippers will come up with! If you have any further questions, let me know
in the comments section.
Bonne chance, les amis!
Ali.
